With great pleasure and enthusiasm, on behalf of the Malaysian Crystallographic Association Committee, we extend our heartfelt welcome to the 18th Conference of the Asian Crystallographic Association (AsCA 2024) in the dynamic city of Kuala Lumpur. As we embark on this exciting journey, we embrace the significance of the year 2024, a momentous occasion for the Malaysian Crystallographic Association. It is with immense pride that we host the AsCA conference after 26 years since its first meeting in Bangi in 1998.
We have meticulously selected the theme "Crystallography Today: Beyond the Fundamental Science", to commemorate this remarkable milestone. As one of the co-chairs of this Conference, I am deeply honoured to be part of this momentous event.
The Asian Crystallographic Association stands as the regional affiliate representative for crystallographic societies and organizations in Asia and Oceania. Together, our members have made profound contributions and left a lasting impact on research and teaching within the field of crystallography. In the spirit of celebration, this conference aims to recognize and embrace the accomplishments of our professional community. Each step we have taken has shaped the path we are on today. Nevertheless, our vision stretches even further, aiming to create greater value for all corners of the globe. This gathering will serve as a platform for us to share our thoughts and exchange ideas, fostering collaborative efforts to propel us to new heights. Together, we will pave the way for an extraordinary future in crystallography, transcending the boundaries of fundamental sciences.
Once again, we extend our warmest welcome to all attendees, and we sincerely hope that you will have a productive and enjoyable time at this Conference. Let us unite in our pursuit of knowledge and collective progress as we venture into unexplored territories.

On behalf of MyCA, it is with great pleasure that we extend a cordial welcome to all of you to the Asian Crystallographic Meeting 2024, scheduled to take place from the 1 to 6 of December 2024 in Malaysia. I feel privileged to serve as one of the co-chairs for this significant event, and alongside the dedicated local organizing committee, we are delighted to embark on this journey once again, following the unfortunate postponement
of AsCA 2021 in Malaysia due to the unprecedented pandemic.
The theme chosen for this event is "Crystallography Today: Beyond the Fundamental Science". This theme reflects our collective commitment to explore the ever-expanding horizons of crystallography and its applications that transcend traditional scientific boundaries. Together, we shall delve into cutting-edge topics and envision a future where crystallography plays an increasingly vital role in shaping a better world.
The Asian Crystallographic Meeting holds profound importance, bringing together brilliant minds and accomplished professionals from diverse corners of the Asian and Oceana region. It provides an invaluable platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the celebration of scientific advancements in crystallography.
